Employer: University of Florida
Title: Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida
Research Areas: Coastal Waters, Public Health, Coastal Tourism
Pathfinder Topic: Harmful Algae Blooms

  • Dr. Jutla is working to uncover data gaps on pathogenic spread and harmful algal blooms in Chesapeake Bay, Tampa Bay, and Biscayne Bay. His research on harmful algal blooms will help determine the risk of two vibrios in coastal waters, which will directly impact public health and safety and coastal tourism.
  • Antar wants to develop and pilot a “Data Coastal Human Health Index” in Tampa Bay and Biscayne Bay and develop predictive intelligence that measures plankton dynamics to predict potential respiratory infections. While Antar is using PACE to collect this information, his work could benefit from OCX capabilities.
