NOAA's Wildland Fire Store provides near real-time wildfire detection and dissemination services to help communities stay informed and safe. Leveraging a suite of on-orbit assets, cutting-edge ground-based systems, and extensive data resources, we strive to minimize the impact of wildfires and protect lives and property.
To take advantage of these satellites and sensor observations, NOAA has developed the Next Generation Wildfire System a dedicated, open source, cloud-based data portal for wildfire detection providing graphical observations and analysis tools to assist authorities in making informed decisions about firefighting efforts, evacuation procedures, and resource allocation during wildfire events.
